About the network

The Magicians’ Podcast Network has been produced by professional magician Richard Young since 2014. What began as a personal passion project has grown into the world’s leading insider magic podcast, with subscribers—including many of the art’s most accomplished performers—across the globe.
Richard is a British magician who spent more than a decade working professionally in close-up magic before moving into theatre and, specifically, stage illusion. Alongside his trusty sidekick Strange in the comedy illusion double act Young & Strange. They have headlined the Champions of Magic touring production for more than 12 years across the UK and North America.

Together, Young & Strange have, to date, completed more than 1,500 performances—from humble beginnings in a 50-seat venue at the Edinburgh Fringe to some of the world’s largest and most beautiful theatres. They also appeared in London’s West End as part of the hit show Wonderville and reached the live finals stage of America’s Got Talent in 2026.
Richard also works as a consultant and director on some of the world’s most successful magic productions, including Jamie Allan’s AMAZE in New York City and the English-language shows of German magic superstars the Ehrlich Brothers.

He also wrote an 11,000-word retrospective essay in collaboration with David Copperfield, exploring the legendary magician’s extraordinary body of work. It was published by London’s famous Magic Circle.

A life immersed in magic has made Richard a passionate broadcast journalist for the art. His experience onstage, backstage and inside the industry gives the podcast its distinctive perspective—helping the magic community keep its finger firmly on the pulse every single week.
